Srinagar, Oct. 3 -- As part of its intensified campaign against narcotics, Police in Jammu and Kashmir's Sopore sub-district today booked two habitual drug peddlers under the Prevention of illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act.
The offenders were identified as Umar Farooq Sheikh of Seeloo and Abdul Hamid Mir of Janwara. Police said Sheikh was lodged in Kot Bhalwal Jail and Mir in District Jail, Poonch.
"Both are repeat offenders with multiple NDPS cases against them and continued involvement in the narcotics trade despite preventive actions," police said.
