Ankara, Feb. 22 -- Heavy snowfall continues to affect many regions of Turkiye, prompting the Turkish State Meteorological Service to issue orange-coded warnings on Friday for eight provinces and yellow-coded warnings for six others.

According to the latest forecasts, snowfall is expected Friday in the coastal areas of the central and eastern Black Sea, eastern and southeastern Anatolia, as well as Istanbul and its surrounding regions, the service said in a statement. The snowfall is predicted to continue on Saturday.

The provinces of Yalova, Kocaeli, Sakarya, Duzce, Zonguldak, Kastamonu, Sinop, and Bartin have been placed under an orange warning, while Istanbul and five other provinces have received a yellow warning.
