Thiruvananthapuram, Dec. 13 -- Turkish filmmaker Erkan Yazici's visually arresting survival drama 'Fragments From The East' left a powerful impression on viewers on the opening day of the 30th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK).
Screened under the World Cinema category at Sree Theatre, the 131-minute film-shot at a staggering 2,700 metres in Turkey's harsh winter and wolf-inhabited terrain-earned wide acclaim for its breathtaking visuals and unflinching portrayal of human endurance.
Starring Guldestan Yuce and Turgay Atalay, the film traces the perilous journey of a woman fleeing war and a fugitive Russian General as they navigate unforgiving snow-clad mountains.
