Dublin, Aug. 26 -- Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is expected to come to Ireland today for his first official visit to the European country since he took office more than two years ago.

During the two-day trip, Fidan will meet with Simon Harris, the Irish deputy prime minister, minister for foreign affairs, trade and defense. They last talked in February on the sidelines of the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Fidan will emphasize the importance of strengthening bilateral relations and regional consultations between Turkey and Ireland and explore new opportunities to deepen trade, economic and cultural relations between the two countries.
