Ankara, March 17 -- Ankara will send a military delegation to Syria in the coming days to discuss the training of the Syrian army, and a Turkish officer may be appointed as a military advisor in the Arab republic, Turkish pro-government newspaper Hurriyet reported on Monday.
The report said that the military delegation will visit Syria for a second time in the near future. During the recent visit of Turkish ministers to Damascus on March 13, the delegation included Maj. Gen. Ilkay Altindag, the director general of defense and security at the Turkish Defense Ministry.
