Istanbul, July 1 -- Turkey increases the fee of passage of ships through the Bosphorus and Dardanelles straits by 15% to $5.83 per franc from July 1, the country's ministry of transport and infrastructure said.
The cost of transit remained unchanged for almost 40 years until 2022, since then it has increased annually. In 2024, the price of transit was increased by almost 15% to $5.08 per franc.
The fee is calculated on the basis of the gold franc since the signing of the Montreux Convention in 1936, which regulates shipping in the straits area.
