Hyderabad, Aug. 14 -- Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao on Thursday hit back at the State BJP President Ramachandra Rao's remarks denying a shortage of urea in the state, calling them proof of his lack of understanding.
He said there is a shortage not only in Telangana but also in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, and accused the BJP-led Central Government of being anti-farmer.
Responding to the BJP's charge that the state government had created an artificial shortage despite adequate supply, Tummala termed the comments regrettable and baseless. He urged BJP leaders to check the facts before making accusations, adding that such statements questioned the sincerity of Telangana BJP towards farmers.
