Tirumala, April 9 -- The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is giving top priority to hygiene, sanitation and environmental protection for devotees visiting Tirumala, with comprehensive arrangements in place to ensure a clean and safe atmosphere.
With an average daily footfall of 80,000 to one lakh pilgrims, sanitation management is being carried out across an area of around 4.5 square kilometres, an official release said on Thursday.
As part of sanitation measures, Tirumala has been divided into three zones and seven wards, while plastic usage has been completely banned as part of environmental protection initiatives.
