Washington/ Tehran, March 19 -- US President Donald Trump on Thursday threatened to "massively blow up" the entire South Pars gas field with a "level of force" Tehran has never seen before after Iran carried out retaliatory attacks on Qatar's liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities.
The escalation came a day after Israel struck the South Pars field, hours after Israeli forces killed Iran's intelligence minister in strikes and coincided with some of the most intense airstrikes in Beirut in decades.
Masoud Pezeshkian confirmed that Israel killed Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib in an overnight attack, marking the third assassination of a high-ranking Iranian official in two days.
