Berlin, Aug. 14 -- US President Donald Trump assured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European leaders of briefing them on the outcome of talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska immediately after the end of the meeting, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said.

"We wished President Trump all the best. We agreed that immediately after the meeting with President Putin, he will first brief Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and then directly the European heads of state and government who are united by this initiative," Merz said at a joint press conference with Zelenskyy in Berlin on Wednesday.
