Washington, Dec. 9 -- US President Donald Trump has threatened to slap fresh tariffs on agricultural imports, singling out rice from India and fertiliser from Canada, as trade negotiations with both countries dragged on.
"India should not be dumping rice in the US," Trump said during an event at the White House, where he announced a multibillion-dollar relief package for American farmers.
The remarks made during the event marked a fresh round of escalation in the Republican government's long-running critique of foreign agricultural suppliers, particularly those in Asia including India and Thailand.
