Washington, Jan. 10 -- US President Donald Trump on Thursday said the United States must take control of Greenland to prevent Russia or China from gaining a strategic foothold in the Arctic.
Trump, who was speaking at a meeting with oil industry representatives at the White House, renewed remarks that have already strained ties with NATO allies, particularly Denmark.
"If we don't take Greenland, you're going to have Russia or China as your next-door neighbor. That's not going to happen," Trump said while speaking at the meeting at the White House.
