Washington/Caracas, Dec. 3 -- US President Donald Trump on Tuesday warned Venezuela of further military action including ground operations against targets linked to Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, significantly escalating Washington's military rhetoric against Caracas.
Speaking after a meeting with his national security team, Trump said the US - which has deployed a massive naval contingent in the Caribbean, and increasingly conducting maritime strikes against Venezuelan vessels it claims are used by Caracas' "narco-terrorists" to peddle drugs into the US - was now prepared to carry forth military actions directly on Venezuelan territory.
