Washington, Sept. 4 -- U.S. President Donald Trump said Wednesday that U.S. forces will remain stationed in Poland and the number could even increase, dismissing speculation about troop withdrawals.

Trump pledged to "help Poland protect itself" at a White House meeting with Poland's new president, Karol Nawrocki.

"We'll put more there if they want," Trump told reporters when asked if he planned to keep U.S. troops in the front-line nation on NATO's eastern flank.
