Seoul, Oct. 29 -- US President Donald Trump landed in South Korea on Wednesday, marking the final leg of his Asia tour for high-stakes meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and South Korean President Lee Jae Myung during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Gyeongju.
Trump's meetings with Lee aim to finalize a July framework deal calling Seoul to invest USD 350 billion in Washington, paired with a reduction of tariffs from 25 pc to 15 PC. Trump has also pressed allies, including South Korea to pay more for defence and called upon for deepening collaboration in shipbuilding, an industry in which South Korea is a global leader.
