Hyderabad, Jan. 1 -- Calling for a society where old age homes become unnecessary, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar on Thursday said true happiness lies in serving one's parents and caring for them with love and dignity.
Choosing simplicity over extravagance, the Commissioner spent the New Year with senior citizens at the old age home and healthcare centre run by RK Foundation in Karkhana, along with senior police officers.
He distributed fruits and sweets to the 48 elderly residents, interacted with them warmly, cut a cake and extended New Year greetings.
