Thane, Dec. 17 -- A truck overturned on Ghodbunder Road near Gaimukh Chowpati in Thane -- a stretch known for frequent accidents, vehicle breakdowns and slow-moving traffic. Local residents have held a protest over the poor road conditions on the stretch.
Thane police stated that the truck overturning did not lead to major traffic disruption. In a message shared on the police department's official social media handle, authorities said that despite the vehicle overturning, two lanes remained operational and traffic was flowing normally.
Officials and residents have attributed these issues to the steep gradient, uneven road surface and patchy repair work, which has reduced the effective width of the carriageway.
