Phagwara, June 25 -- A major road accident was averted today near the Radha Soami Satsang Dera on the National Highway near Goraya when a high-speed truck hit a stationary tipper loaded with gas cylinders, causing the tipper to fall off the flyover, police and eyewitnesses said.
The accident could have led to an explosion as the tipper was carrying nearly 350 gas cylinders.
The impact left the truck and tipper drivers, and a cleaner injured. Bystanders quickly alerted the highway control room. ASI Jaswinder Singh of the Road Safety Force, along with his team, swiftly reached the spot and barricaded the area to prevent further accidents.
