Nagpur, Nov. 16 -- Twenty-nine cattle were burnt to death after a truck carrying them overturned and caught fire early Sunday morning near Fetri village in Kalmeshwar taluka of Maharashtra's Nagpur district.
The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. when the vehicle, reportedly transporting 36 animals, met with an accident and ignited within moments.
According to police, the truck was travelling from Mahalgaon on the Bhandara route toward Kalmeshwar.
The vehicle overturned on its side near Fetri-Gorewada Road, rupturing the fuel tank.
The leaking fuel is believed to have triggered the fire. Debris was scattered across the road and the blaze rapidly engulfed the truck.
