Thane, Oct. 23 -- A 45-year-old truck driver was arrested by the city police on the charge of allegedly attempting to kill his paramour by throwing boiling oil on her in the small hours of Wednesday.
An offence under sections 307, 326 and 504 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused Bhimrao Bhide from Nashik, police said.
The 35-year-old victim, who worked as a waitress at a hotel in Chinchpada of Ambernath, has been admitted to a hospital with severe burn wounds all over her body.
Police said that the woman's husband had left her as the couple did not have a male child and he died four years back. They had a love marriage in 2005.
