Balrampur, Oct. 2 -- In a road accident late last night, four youths lost their lives and two others sustained serious injuries after a speeding truck collided with two motorcycles carrying six friends.
The accident occurred around midnight near the Kand Bhari Chauraha under Nagar Kotwali police station limits, local officials said today.
According to police and eyewitnesses, six friends from Moodadiha village in Maharajganj Tarai were traveling on two motorcycles to see Durga Puja idols. When they reached the Kand Bhari turn, a truck coming from the opposite direction suddenly appeared, leading to a head-on collision.
The impact was so severe that both motorcycles were thrown nearly 20 feet into a nearby field.
