Hyderabad, May 23 -- Contrary to expectations and exit polls predictions, the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) could not able to sweep the Lok Sabha election as it did in the Assembly election held in December 2018.



In the Assembly election, the TRS had bagged 88 of the 119 Assembly seats in the state.



Buoyed by its spectacular show in the Assembly election, the top brass of the party including TRS Supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao have been exuding confidence that the party would win 16 of the 17 Lok Sabha seats sans the Hyderabad Lok Saba Constituency, the bastion of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM).
