Agartala, Sept. 18 -- Tripura Government Teachers Association (TGTA) and Tripura Teachers Association (TTA) moved to the Supreme Court supporting the School Teachers Federation of India (STFI), which filed a review petition in the apex court against the SC's decision on Sept 1.

The SC made the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) mandatory for all teachers across the country appointed before passing the Right to Education Act, 2009.

The Supreme Court delivered a landmark judgment declaring that all serving teachers from Classes I to VIII, both in primary and upper primary levels, must clear the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) to continue in service.
