Agartala, April 22 -- Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Tuesday said his government has been trying to revive the lost traditions, culture, and festivals in the state.
Addressing the indigenous Garia puja and Barsha Baran Utsav 2025, he said the tribal Welfare department has initiated steps to promote religious and cultural traditions of different communities.
"Just as Durga Puja, one of the main festivals for us Bengalis, Garia Puja is also the main festival of the Tripuri, Reang, and Kokborok-speaking people. To encourage wider celebration of Garia Puja, our government has declared a two-day public holiday to make it a everyone's festival," he said.
