Agartala, Sept. 29 -- Tripura has rapidly emerged as a prime tourism destination in Northeast India, showcasing a remarkable increase in visitor numbers, both domestic and international, over the past two years, state Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said today, quoting the India Tourism Data Compendium 2025.

In 2024, the state welcomed 601,000 domestic tourists, a 64.07% increase compared to 366,000 in 2023. The influx of foreign tourists also saw a significant rise, growing by 36.15% with 91,000 visitors recorded in 2024, up from 67,000 the previous year.
