Agartala, Dec. 26 -- Speaker of Tripura Legislative Assembly Biswabandhu Sen passed away on Friday morning following prolonged illness. He was 72.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma along with Tripura Chief Minister Dr Mani Saha, expressed grief over the Speaker's death.
Sen passed away at a Bengaluru hospital where he had been undergoing treatment for over four-and-a-half months following a cerebral stroke at Agartala Railway station on August 8 last.
He is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter.
