Agartala, Feb. 15 -- Tripura Legislative Assembly Speaker and senior BJP leader Biswabandhu Sen tendered an apology for his remark against former Chief Minister and veteran communist leader Manik Sarkar and Leader of opposition, Jitendra Chaudhury.

Addressing a BJP rally on Feb 12 in his constituency North Tripura's Dharmanagar Sen described Sarkar as 'cheater No 1 and Chaudhury, also State Secretary of CPI-M as cheater No 2', which earned a sharp criticism in the political circle. Sen was reportedly put under pressure in his constituency and the party following adverse reactions across the state.
