Agartala, Dec. 18 -- In a significant move to boost agricultural productivity, Tripura Agriculture Department has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Bureau of Soil Survey (NBSS) based in Nagpur on Thursday.

Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath announced that this partnership is focused on conducting scientific mapping and assessment of cultivable land through geo-spatial techniques in three districts of the state. This initiative is anticipated to assist farmers in selecting crop-specific cultivation methods based on soil characteristics, thereby enhancing overall productivity.
