Agartala, March 19 -- Tripura State Election Commission (SEC) has assured the Supreme Court of India that the forthcoming Village Council elections will be completed, including the announcement of results, by the end of June this year.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday addressed two significant matters regarding the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (ADC), the postponed Village Council elections and outstanding financial bills awaiting action from the state government.
The case concerning the long-overdue Village Council elections was brought forth by Pradyot Kishore Debbarman, founder of TIPRA Motha and a member of the royal family.
