Agartala, March 23 -- The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shilachhari Police Station in Gomati District, Lakhbir Jamatia, has been suspended on Monday due to serious negligence in his duties and non-compliance with Supreme Court directives.
An order from Tripura Police Headquarters indicates that a departmental inquiry has been launched against Jamatia under the Central Civil Services (CCS) Rules, 1965, related to a disciplinary issue.
Allegedly, Jamatia was found negligent in duty while investigating the case of an abduction of two officials of a gas exploration company early this month.
