Agartala, Sept. 15 -- Tripura police on Monday registered criminal cases against TIPRA Motha leader Gautam Buddha Debbarma of Bishramganj and Amra Bangali state president Gouranga Rudrapal of Agartala on charges of instigating communal disharmony and provoking violence.
The action comes after videos surfaced on social media showing Debbarma making provocative remarks against the Bengali community, while Rudrapal made inciteful comments against tribals, said a senior police officer.
However, no action has yet been taken against Pradyot Kishore Debbarman, who first triggered the controversy at a rally in Delhi, claiming he is the owner of the state and others are tenants.
