Agartala, April 21 -- Tipra Motha MLA Ranjit Debbarma, a coalition partner of the ruling BJP, has reached out to the Tripura Human Rights Commission (THRC), seeking immediate action against security personnel and supervising officials accused of assaulting a woman leader of his party.
The incident allegedly occurred during the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (ADC) elections on April 12. Debbarma claimed that the victim, Supriya Choudhury, along with other women representatives, was present at the SDM office in Sabroom, South Tripura district, to monitor the polling process and ensure a smooth and fair election.
