Agartala, Jan. 12 -- Tripura police have launched an investigation into a shocking allegation in Dindayal village of Kamalasagar in Tripura's Sepahijala district, where a man complained that he was falsely declared dead to enable the unlawful transfer of his ancestral property by his brothers and a sister-in-law.

The complainant, Shankar Chakraborty, has accused Rina Chakraborty, a ward-level leader of the ruling party, along with her husband, Sukumar Chakraborty, and brother-in-law, Pankaj Chakraborty, colluded to have him declared dead and procured a fraudulent death certificate. They allegedly utilised this counterfeit document to register their father's property in their names.
