Agartala, Nov. 27 -- Tripura Tourism is renewing its emphasis on high-end tourism initiatives, with the state government encouraging private investment in heli tourism routes and floating restaurant projects as part of a larger effort to unveil unexplored destinations.
Tourism Secretary UK Chakma said the government is focusing on helicopter-based access to significant attractions in Dumboor Lake, Unakoti, and Jampui Hill. He mentioned that the long-inactive Unakoti airstrip, which ceased operations in the early 1990s, has been recommended to the Ministry of Civil Aviation for restoration, enabling it to serve as Tripura's second airport, greatly enhancing regional tourism accessibility.
