Agartala, Dec. 21 -- The High Court of Tripura issued arrest warrants on Saturday for three senior officials of state education department for contempt of court, as they failed to adhere to judicial orders and did not appear in person despite instructions.
Justice S Dutta Purkayastha issued warrants against Secretary of Education Raval H Kumar, Director of Higher Education Animesh Debbarma, and Principal of Dharmanagar Government College Gautam Das.
The contempt proceedings stem from the failure to implement a High Court ruling made on 15 November 2021, where a single judge ordered the State Government to reinstate the writ petitioner, who was employed as a DRW employee at Dharmanagar Government College, and to regularize his service.
