Agartala, July 22 -- Tripura government has announced the commencement of direct paddy procurement for the Rabi season at Minimum Support Price (MSP) from July 26 like previous years jointly by Civil Supplies and Agriculture departments.
Minister of Food and Civil Supplies Sushanta Chowdhury today said that it has been decided that at least 14 lakh metric tons of paddy will be procured to ensure farmers receive fair compensation for their efforts.
The initiative reflects our dedication to ensuring that farmers' hard work is duly rewarded, said Chowdhury, and added that the plan has been undertaken to ensure coordinated efforts among all stakeholders to make the procurement drive a success.
