Agartala, Dec. 22 -- Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Monday said Tripura has become the first state in India to implement reforms suggested under the new criminal laws, which have replaced the colonial-era legal system.
Speaking at an advocates' conclave organised by the Tripura BJP legal cell, Dr Saha said the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam have brought about significant reforms designed to accelerate the justice delivery system.
He highlighted that specific timelines have been established for investigations, trials, and case resolutions to ensure prompt justice.
