Agartala, March 12 -- Tripura has distinguished itself as one of the top-performing states in the second edition of the Fiscal Health Index (FHI) assessed by NITI Aayog for the year 2023-24.

The FHI provides a thorough, data-driven analysis of Indian states' fiscal performance, serving as a benchmarking tool to support evidence-based policymaking and improve fiscal management practices.

It evaluated the states across five key dimensions, including Quality of Expenditure, Revenue Mobilisation, Fiscal Prudence, Debt Index, and Debt Sustainability.
