Agartala, Sept. 19 -- Tripura has significantly lowered aquaculture costs by developing an organic fish feed made from Wolffia globosa, the world's smallest aquatic plant.
The initiative is a joint effort of Tripura College of Fisheries and the Directorate of Biotechnology, highlighting its potential to transform fish farming in the state. Joint Director of Biotechnology Anjan Sengupta said trials have shown that Wolffia-based feed not only reduces dependence on expensive commercial feed but also promotes faster growth in species like Katla and Rui.
