Agartala, Dec. 24 -- Tripura Police apprehended a woman and her spouse last night for the alleged murder of the woman's 70-year-old mother, following a dispute regarding financial and material demands in Agartala.
Police reported that Sulekha Dey, a resident of West Bubhanban under the West Agartala police station, was found dead in her room on December 22.
Her daughter, Bulti Deb, and son-in-law, Bishnu Deb, have been taken into custody in connection with the case.
Police indicated that the investigation took a significant turn when the initial complainants were identified as the primary suspects. The couple had initially claimed that unidentified assailants had broken into their home and attacked the elderly woman before escaping.
