Agartala, Oct. 18 -- Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha reiterated that the state police have ramped up their anti-drug efforts over the last 10 days, resulting in significant seizures and arrests as part of the government's "Zero Tolerance" approach to narcotics.

Dr Saha reported that through collaborative efforts with intelligence agencies, Tripura Police successfully seized 896 kilograms of cannabis, 90,617 bottles of prohibited cough syrup, 180 Yabba tablets, and 27.78 grams of heroin in the special operation during this period.

The operations led to the registration of 15 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) cases, with 16 individuals arrested for their roles in drug trafficking.
