Agartala, March 14 -- Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Friday flagged off five modern mobile forensic vans for different districts which will be used for collection and preservation of quick and proper scientific evidence after occurrence of any crime.
"Although our crime rate according to National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) is third from the bottom of 28 states, the conviction rate is still not achieved at our desired level.
We believe if the investigation mechanism is strengthened and scientific techniques are used, the conviction rate will be improved and justice delivery system will be better, where these forensic vehicles will play a vital role," Dr Saha said.
