Agartala, Feb. 11 -- Tripura Drugs Control Authority canceled the licenses of 154 pharmacies last year for violating rules and selling contraband items, said Deputy Drugs Controller Kanchan Singh here on Tuesday.

She said the Drugs Control Administration had sample-tested 3,589 drugs across 3,203 shops including hospital stores, and out of these, 21 samples were declared not up to quality in 2024

"We have also taken action against 372 shops for violating rules, and the licenses of 154 shops were canceled for selling contraband items and other violations. During inspections, we also encountered some sensitive issues, like storing anti-abortion drugs," she said.
