Agartala, Dec. 8 -- The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tripura strongly criticised the opposition Congress party following a warning issued by Congress Working Committee member Sudip Roy Barman to Booth Level Officers (BLO) regarding the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll.
BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee condemned Roy Barman's language towards the BLOs, stating that it reflected the culture of the Congress party. Bhattacharjee emphasised that the BLOs, as government employees working under the supervision of the Election Commission of India, were being directly targeted by Roy Barman's remarks, which he deemed unacceptable and potentially criminal.
