Agartala, Aug. 4 -- Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT), the ruling BJP's ally in the state government, has announced 'Tipraland Demand Day' protest on August 23 to pursue their longstanding demand of elevating the Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (ADC) to a separate state with autonomy. IPFT general secretary Swapan Debbarma said that the demand for Tipraland remains the cornerstone of the party's ideology. It has been fighting for two-and-a-half decades for empowerment, direct funding from the Centre and ADC autonomy.
