Shillong, Nov. 3 -- In a fresh political re-alignment, the National People's Party (NPP) is set to join hands with like-minded outfits from the North East to form a new political force, aiming to create a strong common platform for the people of the region.
According to sources, parties like the Tipraha Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA) from Tripura under the leadership of royal scion, Pradyot Bikram Manikya Deb Barma will join forces with the NPP led by Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma. Tipra will first merge with the NPP before launching a new pan-North East political party.
