Agartala, July 15 -- The BJP's ally in the Tripura government, TIPRA Motha MLA Ranjit Debbarma, wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting the renaming of a road in New Delhi in honour of the last king of Tripura, Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya, who is recognised as the architect of the present state.

The MLA also proposed the installation of a statue of the Maharaja and the setting up of a replica of the historic Tripureswari temple, including the Chaturdash Devta temple, at the National Museum in Delhi to promote Tripura in the national capital.
