Tributes paid to Nehru on his death anniversary

Puducherry, May 27 -- Floral tributes were paid to first Prime Minister of India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on his 56th death anniversary here on Wednesday.

Chief Minister V Narayanasamy, his Cabinet Colleagues, Lok Sabha member V Vaithilingam, legislators and senior officials of the territorial administration garlanded the Nehru statue.

Rich tributes were paid to a decorated portrait of the late leader at a function organized in front of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) office here in which Chief Minister, his Cabinet Colleagues and PCC President A V Subramanian took part.

A two minutes silence was also observed on the occasion.

In both the functions, the participants maintained social distancing and wore masks. UNI PAB CS 1154
