Imphal, Oct. 4 -- In a solemn and deeply moving ceremony held at the Battalion Headquarters in Modi, Chandel District, the Assam Rifles today paid rich tributes to Late Nk (Naik) Tara Singh, who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty on October 4, 1995, during a counter insurgency operation in Lalapura, Jammu & Kashmir.
The event, marking the 30th anniversary of his martyrdom, was attended by 169 personnel of the Assam Rifles, reflecting the deep sense of pride and reverence that continues to inspire the Force.
The ceremony, conducted with full military honours, included a wreath laying tribute, a moment of silence, and the traditional sounding of the bugle, symbols of respect for a soldier who gave his life for the nation.
