Ranchi, Oct. 17 -- Thousands of members from various tribal communities of Jharkhand gathered at the Prabhat Tara Ground in Dhurwa, here, today to participate in the Adivasi Hunkar Rally organized under the banner of Adivasi Bachao Morcha.

The rally strongly opposed the demand to include the Kudmi community in the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category, asserting that such a move would threaten the identity, rights, and representation of the state's indigenous tribes.

Participants from several districts, including Ranchi, Khunti, Chatra, Lohardaga, Mandar, Silli, Gumla, Simdega, and Latehar, joined the rally in large numbers.
